Natural Timber
Each timber is unique. Natural colour & grain variations will cause timber to react differently to different stain & finishes. It is not uncommon to find several contrasts on same piece of furniture. Knots and other characteristics are an indication of inherent timber quality. Timber products should never be exposed to rain / moisture / water / liquid spill / excessive heat / direct sunlight and extreme temperature. Timber products can be cleaned using warm soapy water and a soft cotton cloth. Wipe dry any liquid spills immediately. Do not leave spills, glass, crockery or hot pots / pans on surface for extended periods as they can leave permanent marks.
Stone & Marble
Products should never be exposed to rain / moisture / water / liquid spill / excessive heat / direct sunlight and extreme temperature. Stone & Marble products can be cleaned using warm soapy water and a soft cotton cloth. Wipe dry any liquid spills immediately. Do not leave spills, glass, crockery or hot pots / pans on surface for extended periods as they can leave permanent marks.
Fabrics

Fabrics must be treated with scotch guard protection and clean periodically with hand vacuum to remove all dirt and dust particles. Reapply scotch guard as and when required or specified.

Use Commercial Fabric shampoo, conditioners & cleaners. Please refer to specific fabric supplier and / or manufacturer’s product care instructions for detailed care. Not all removable cushion covers are suitable for commercial laundry wash. Please check with us if in doubt.

Natural Rattan & Wicker
is always specified for Indoor use. Any water contact or direct sun will gradually deteriorate overall structure. Do not use Natural Rattan & Wicker furniture outdoors. Be Careful when stacking chairs or stools as any unnecessary pressure or contact between legs while stacking will loosen tie-ups around feet and frame. Hand woven materials around seat and backrest are sensitive to any sharp object and must be kept away from such objects.
Outdoor Furniture
can withstand wet weather conditions for up to 8 hours. After that, Furniture must be wiped dry immediately and stored dry undercover until wet weather conditions subsides. It is recommended to buy special Furniture Covers for Outdoor Furniture to cover them when not in use.
Metal Furniture
Metal furniture can be cleaned using damp clean cloth. Once wiped clean, please ensure furniture is wiped dry to remove any smears or traces of moisture.
Teak Furniture

Can be cleaned immediately using a brush and warm, soapy water which effectively eliminate dirt, minor stains, surface mold, and mildew. Optimal results stem from scrubbing along the grain. Avoid cleaning under direct, hot sunlight.

Steer clear of harsh chemical or general timber cleaners. Instead, use specialized, eco-friendly teak cleaners for stain removal and the revitalization of discoloured or faded teak.

Persistent stains like grease, red wine, or coffee tend to fade gradually when exposed to weather conditions. For quicker removal of tough stains, delicately sand the affected area with fine-grit sandpaper.

Pressure cleaning teak is possible but do exercise caution. Use a low-pressure setting to safeguard the timber and furniture from damage.

Important

Never use metal brushes, abrasive scouring pads, or steel wool on teak surfaces as it will permanently scratch your furniture.

Teak furniture, like any wood, is prone to natural staining and will gradually adopt a silvery-grey patina.

Specialist teak protectors offer a solution to prevent this colour shift and conserve teak's original tone. Before applying any treatment, allow the furniture to be exposed to the elements for four to six weeks. Adherence to the specific product's instructions is crucial for optimal results when treating teak.

Using general timber oils on teak isn't advisable. Teak's inherent oil content naturally shields it from water damage and decay, preventing drying, splitting, warping, and cracking, which is common in other timber species.

Moreover, oiling teak doesn't prevent its natural fading but restricts the wood's breathability, potentially causing mildew and black spots.

When treating teak furniture, utilize sealers or cleaners explicitly designed for teak wood.

When exposed to the elements, teak undergoes a natural aging process, resulting in roughening. Upon its initial exposure to moisture, the timber slightly roughens as it dries—an occurrence known as "grain lift” - a common phenomenon.

Alongside grain lift, teak may also develop minor cracks termed “checking” which can happen within the first 3-6 months post-assembly as it settles in its environment. Importantly, these cracks have no bearing on the furniture's strength or integrity. Finally, Teak requires regular maintenance and upkeep to ensure it stays in good condition over time.

Seating Glides
Please check glides as often as possible. Glides are a wear and tear component and must be replaced regularly to protect floor surfaces from getting damaged.
Stacking of Chairs and Stools
Not all seating products is designed or manufactured for stacking. Even products that are specified as stackable will endure wear and tear over time. Do not drag stacked seating, as that will damage your seating products as well as flooring.
Metal and Brass Edges

will endure natural patina overtime. Brasso or similar product like Brasso may be used regularly to keep brass edges looking clean and fresh.

Due to high humidity and proximity to coastal areas, Metal may corrode / rust overtime. If harsh chemical is applied while cleaning surfaces, it will lead to corrosion.

Laminate

Surfaces resist staining from most household chemicals. With some accidental spills however, prompt action is essential.

Wipe off beetroot, grape and berry juices, first aid preparations, concentrated bleach, oven cleaners, dishwasher detergents, artificial dyes, hair colouring and solvent based pen ink immediately. Specialty glues such as Super Glue must also be removed straight away with acetone (nail polish remover).

Streaky marks sometimes show on dark colours after cleaning. An all-purpose cleaner such as Windex spray cleaner or Ajax Spray n Wipe usually removes them.

Using a mild dishwashing detergent in water will remove greasy marks. Dab, wait and wipe away. Finish with an all-purpose cleaner such as Windex spray cleaner or Ajax Spray n Wipe.

If the stain won’t budge with Extra Strength Windex, try methylated spirits or dab the stain with a diluted bleach mixture (1 part bleach to 8 parts water); leave for 3 minutes then wash off with water and dry. Finish off with Extra Strength Windex.

Only as a last resort if a stain persists try 2 or 3 rubs with a crème cleanser or white toothpaste, wash and dry. Please note that bleach or these abrasive cleaners may irreversibly damage the laminate surface.

Laminate surfaces will withstand normal wear and tear, but can be damaged by scratching or cutting with utensils, knives and unglazed pottery. Darker colours will show scratches more readily than lighter colours.

In general, dark colours and high gloss surfaces require more care and maintenance than lighter colours or lower gloss colours. To minimise scratching, always place and lift objects from the surface – never drag or slide them across the surface.

Conclusion

Abrasive sponges / powder or any type of detergent with chemicals should not be used to clean or scrub furniture.

For dirt that has accumulated over time, you may use a specific fit for purpose Cleaner.

Kindly avoid prolonged contact with any object that can hold water and humidity (such as flower pots, plate stands etc.) in combination with heat, moisture as it can affect & damage the overall appearance. To prevent moisture retention, we recommend that you tilt tables regularly and rest chairs tilted against the table. Please DO NOT place chairs upside down on tables as it may damage both, chairs as well as table top.

Table tops should not be covered with plastic sheeting: the chemical components in plastic covers over time may alter the appearance of paint / stain as well as its protective anti-corrosion and anti-UV property.

Furniture with fabrics should be always be protected from potential damage from contact with sharp & hot objects or sources such as fork, knives & cigarettes.

Iron & Steel furniture does not react well to saline environments. For coastal environments, we recommend our aluminium products.

The lifespan of your furniture will vary in relation to the conditions and type of use. To maximise the lifespan of your product, we recommend that you store it in a dry, well-ventilated place.
